8. Fiction of Mitter Sain Meet A     Critique of Bourgeois State

Fiction of Mitter Sain Meet:

This critique is written by Dr.T.R.Vinod who retired as a Professor from Regional Centre, Punjabi University, Bathiada. He was highly appreciated as a Marxist critic in Punjabi literary circle. Under his supervision many students did P.hd and M.Phil degrees. He has divided this book in four chapters. In the beginning, a critique of law and justice, Kaurav Sabha: a critique of capitalism and conclusion.

Prof. Harish K. Puri has praised this book in the following words:

Mitter Sain Meet has earned a name for a new genre in Punjabi fiction which  involves an engagement of the reader in conversations in public sociology. Fiction  for him was a technique to educate and sensitise the reader about aspect of a disturbing social reality that he understands best on the basis of a long time of  professional experience and keen observation. That relates to the actual working    of the whole system of criminal justice in India and the manner in which criminals, police, lawyers and jails and courts relate to each other and the   sufferings and helplessness of those caught in its coils….. Professor T.R.Vinod, a distinguished scholar of Punjabi literature, deserves credit for bringing out in one volume such a comprehensive critique of all of Meet’s novels.
